Country assistance strategy 2010-2012: is a transition strategy before the expected design of a joint assistance strategy by all the country’s technical and financial partners that will be aligned with the new Strategy for Accelerated Growth and Sustained Development (Stratégie de Croissance Accélérée et de Développement Durable-SCADD) to be finalized and adopted by the end of this year –in replacement of the current Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP)- and which will cover the 2011-2015 period. This strategy is base on two strategic pillars 1)Minimizing economic vulnerability and promoting Growth through economic transformation 2) improving both offer and demand of/for efficient and quality social service by supporting engaged governance and addressing constraints linked to lack of capacity.
European Commission*
The Country Strategy Paper for Burkina Faso (2008-2013) EC assistance will concentrate mainly on improving basic infrastructure and interconnectivity and supporting good governance. EC aid will contribute to improving road networks providing increased more sustainable and more equitably distributed water supplies and drainage systems promoting renewable energy sources. It will also help to improve political and democratic governance and local governance. In addition the EU will support the government’s macroeconomic reform programme for poverty reduction via general budget support.
