What Is QLED?

Wondering what is QLED? We got you!

The technology of the monitors and TVs has been changing faster than we can adapt or follow in the last few decades, especially after the LED technology started to take its space in our households.

With LED technology, there are different versions of it coming up with brands doing their own research and coming up with a better way to create a monitor or a TV.

One of those new technologies with LED is the QLED technology that Samsung came up with.

It has a slight difference and gives you a better contrast on the screens. We will talk about QLED and explain it to you.

What Is QLED?

QLED is a quantum light-emitting diode. It is an LED technology but with a small difference that enhances your view on the screen you are watching, from the colors to the brightness of the image, thanks to the quantum layer in the light-emitting diode.

QLED technology is a technology that Samsung developed and mainly Samsung uses to create better televisions and monitors for a better image on their devices.

It works by emitting its own light, and quantum technology creates its own image that is by far better than other technologies.

It makes the picture crisper and smoother with better lightning and brightness depending on what you are using your monitor or TV for. QLED features come in almost all 100-inch tv and 60-inch tv’s

How Does QLED Work?

All of the QLED monitors or TVs you see from Samsung have a quantum filter in their light-emitting diode.

This quantum filter is a film of tiny semiconductor particles that can control the color output of the screen, and instead of a certain set of colors, it shows you a variety of colors in better quality.

It also has an aluminum compound to make the views on the screen brighter, creating a wider and more accurate color scheme.

New filters in the QLED technology display 100% of the DCI’s color space which makes the performance at its peak no matter the brightness.

To put it into context, QLED can produce up to 4000 nits vs. a classical LED that produces around 1000.

While you are shopping for a new TV, especially from Samsung, it is important to understand the difference between LED and QLED because QLED is actually not a new technology and not much of something new worth considering so deeply.

QLED is basically just a tweaked version of the LED technology that has been in our homes for the last few decades.

It just gives you a little better vision on your TVs, but overall the technology behind it is exactly the same as normal LED.

The Verdict

To conclude, QLED is a new technology that Samsung brought onto the market with a little tweak they made to the classical LED technology that has been dominating the market for the past few decades.

It works with quantum, and it allows for you to have a better and more solid color contrast on your television or monitor.

It works a little bit differently than the LED technology, but overall the technology behind it is the same. The 90-inch tv QLED is one of the biggest and most popular TVs on the market.
